Location Lighting Workshop with Rick Friedman will be a dynamic, intensive, interactive photo workshop designed for portrait photographers, photojournalists, corporate, wedding, event photographers and serious amateurs who want to improve their knowledge of lighting. The photo workshop begins with creating interesting light with one Speedlight, progresses through using multiple Speedlites, light modifiers, color gels and ends with mixing both Speedlights and studio strobes. Attend Rick's class and you will leave feeling empowered to capture great images no matter what lighting situation you come up against! You’ll have the opportunity to work with a live model as Rick demonstrates his creative lighting techniques. Rick Friedman has been a photojournalist for over four decades. Based in Boston, he travels the world for numerous publications, corporations, advertising assignments, and film and television productions. His published work has appeared in Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, Nature, USA Today, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Stern, Discover, Sports Illustrated and many other publications. He has produced over 75 book and magazine covers. Rick began his career at UPI in Boston, represented by Black Star for 28 years and is currently represented by Corbis.Rick has been teaching his "Location Lighting Workshops™" for over 10 years across the US and UK. Rick has taught thousands of people his style of practical lighting. Rick has appeared on Creative Live, is a Dynalite VIP and a Chimera Visionary. Rick has presented workshops for ASMP, SWPP, WPPI, PhotoPlus, PPA, Columbia College, Hunts Photo & Video, Unique Photo, MidWest Photo, and Glazers Photo.
