Cárdenes has a photographic career spanning 45 years in both commercial and fine art photography. He enjoyed an early exposure to both televesion and film and as a result his photography, characterized by its dramatic lighting, has a cinematic style. Cárdenes' photography has been exhibited in galleries across the country, inlcuding local venues such as The Americas Collection, MAC Fine Art Gallery and the Red Dot Gallery. The Fence by Charles Ommanney Gallery Opening - Friday, May 29th, 2015   |   RSVP Join us on Friday, May 29th at 7:30 PM for a gallery opening and reception for photojournalist Charles Ommanney, whose exhibit, The Fence, will be featured in Leica Store Miami's main gallery from the end of May through July. The Fence, which is comprised both of still images and video, won a 2015 World Press Award. For the project, Charles Ommanney drove nearly 2,000 miles along the US-Mexico border from Brownsville, TX to San Diego, CA where he photographed and filmed the border fence, and gathered testimony from US citizens along the border. The result is a unique perspective on the immigration debate through a conceptual exploration of the economic, political, environmental, and humanitarian costs of the construction of this fence. Charles Ommanney's work has appeared across the globe in thousands of publications and his iconic images have graced the covers of magazines such as Newsweek, Time, Vanity Fair, Stern, Paris Match and Rolling Stone.
